Now we’re in the final few days of 2013, it’s time to take a quick look back over the year and decide which were the top 5 ladies watch brands. The list below has been compiled using lots of different data relating to volume of sales, customer satisfaction and price, so it’s pretty certain we’ve got it right. Many of the people reading this will already own at least one of the household names we’re about to mention, so feel free to comment and let us know your own thoughts and experiences.
With the rise of smart watches over the last 12 months, some experts were predicting that sales would slow for their more traditional counterpart. However, it would seem they were wrong yet again. Sales are on the increase at the moment, probably due to the fact that our economy is currently on the rise, meaning there’s more work and money floating around. Still, there might be a couple of surprises in this post, so keep reading and see if we can’t shock you.
1 – Chanel
Now here’s a brand you should all recognise. Chanel has their fingers in a lot of pies of late; they’re selling perfume, fashionable clothing and jewellery, but over the last few years they’ve launches themselves into the watchmaking market properly and are currently taking it by storm. Although most of the designs are probably just outside of the average UK residents budget, it’s still possible to pick up low-range models for less than £400.
2 – Longines
Based in Switzerland, Longines have been at the forefront of popular watch design since their founding in 1832. Renowned for their attention to detail and durable products, their latest editions have been selling like hotcakes back home in the UK, leading many people to believe they could well earn the reward for best watchmaker as we enter 2014.
3 – Tissot
Well, you all knew the Swiss nation weren’t going to be one trick ponies when it came to the field of watchmaking, and you definitely weren’t wrong. Tissot has been around since 1853, and in that time they’ve produced some of the most attractive ladies watches ever to make it onto the UK market. The Generosi-T has been the most popular this year, with major stockists like Goldsmiths reporting significant sales.
4 – Gucci
The Italian fashion and jewellery brand Gucci (owned by a French company interestingly), first started making top quality watches only a few short years ago. This year that improved on their “Twirl” design and a number of others in the range which has helped to increase sales tenfold. Starting at around £500 for a decent model, they’re certainly not the most expensive on this list either.
5 – Omega De Ville
Omega has been around for a long time now, and correct us if we’re wrong, but weren’t they selected as the brand to design space watches during the Apollo program? This year their Ladymatic ladies watch has proven to be the most popular, probably due to the sleek rose gold design and truly upmarket price tag of well over £10,000.
Well, that’s it guys. We hope you’ve enjoyed reading about the top 5 ladies watch brands of 2013, and maybe now you’ve got enough much needed inspiration to make a decision on which models you might consider buying next year.
Have a brilliant Christmas!
