Factors To Consider When Buying A New Bra

  • Sumo

The right bra can make you look fantastic on the outside as well as feel great and sexy. A lot of women will have a large stash of bras in their bedrooms but will only have two or three ‘functional ones.’

Talk to any woman and they will attest to the fact that getting the right bra is no walk in the park. It is surprisingly difficult. They will get home excited they bought a new bra only to realize that it does not fit properly.

If you are one such person, below are some things to factor in the next time you go bra shopping.

Buying A New Bra

  • Get your bra fitted

Some estimates manufacturers use are just wrong! Believe it or not, 80% of women wear the wrong size of bra. The reason for this is women never get properly fitted for bras.

If you are looking to purchase a women bra, go to a quality store that will have personnel who will assist you by properly measuring you for the correct bra size.

This is essential because, with time, our bodies change due to various factors. So, it is highly unnatural to think that your bra size has not.

  • Know your body type

We are born with different body types. So, when buying a bra, you should remember that your overall body type will determine the type of bra you wear.

Same as above, a quality bra shop will help you know your body type and the right bra for you.

  • Make sure the bra fits perfectly

The right bra size will fit snugly. It is wrong to assume that a very tight bra will loosen up with time and a loosely fitting one will be comfortable.

To know if you are wearing the right bra size, you should be able to fit only two fingers under the band; no more, no less.

  • Look into the mirror

After fitting the bra, the next thing is looking into the mirror to see how the bra fits with and without a top.

My advice is, when going bra shopping, go with a fairly light top without a high neck. This will allow you to see how your body looks with the bra on.

As you look into the mirror, notice the position of your breasts. A good bra should not only offer support but also hold your breasts in the right position. The right position is whereby you bust is halfway between your elbows and shoulders.

  • Go for quality over quantity

Good bras are expensive. As such it is better to have a few quality bras than a closet full of bras that do not fit properly and are uncomfortable.

A quality bra is comfortable, offers optimal support, and helps boost self-esteem.

  • Allow for stretching

As much as I am insisting on a fitting bra, I mean a properly fitting on; not one that will constrict blood flow.

Go for a bra that fits properly on the widest fastening. With such a bra, you will be able to tighten it when stretching occurs.

I hope these tips help you buy the perfect bra for you.
