Red Band Cigar Sampler For Your Valentine

Having trouble finding the perfect gift for your Valentine this year? Does he or she enjoy cigars? We’ll take the visual approach to picking out fantastic Valentine’s Day gifts for that special cigar smoker in your life. Let’s start with the obvious: the cigar band. This is typically the first feature your eye is drawn to on a cigar. This paper wrapping is sometimes elegant and sometimes plain and simple. Using Valentine’s Day as our holiday of choice, we’ll focus our attention to some of my favorite red-banded cigars.

Red Band Cigar

One of my all-time favorite premium cigars is the Sun Grown by Rocky Patel Toro. For many years now, the Sun Grown (Toro vitola) has lived in my humidor. Sometimes I let them age a bit and sometimes I can’t wait and I smoke them as soon as they arrive in the mail. I say ‘mail’ because I don’t have the benefit of a local tobacconist. The red double-band is elegant and absolutely fits in our red-band sampler assembly! This Rocky Patel Sun Grown is a blend of Nicaraguan and Dominican tobaccos wrapped in an Ecuadorian leaf. Expect a full body finish with lots of complex flavors. The aroma is also fantastic!

Next is the Tatuaje Havana VI Nobles. With a simple red band with white font, the Tatuaje Havana VI packs tons of medium-bodied flavor in an elegant package. Expect nearly flawless construction, triple-cap, and brilliant ashing. This gift may be subtle in looks, but it packs plenty of satisfying flavors. Very budget-friednly as well!

No cigar list is ever complete without mentioning something by A. Fuente! The Arturo Fuente Short Story is a must-have for our red band sampler! Indeed they are “short”, measuring at just 4 inches long and a 48 ring gauge. These cigars may look small, but you’ll get around 45 minutes to an hour of smoking time in! The spicy and tasty African Cameroon wrapper all but trumps anything else you’ll smoke during the year! The finish is medium to full.

To end the list, I’ll share with you the first box of cigars I ever purchased: the Romeo Y Julieta 1875 Bully. If budget is an issue, this will be the perfect cigar for your special Valentine! Though sometimes unpredictable when it comes to performance, these RyJs tend to be fantastic smokes. With plenty of built-in value and tons of flavor and spice, these will absolutely not disappoint. Read this entire last paragraph with much bias. I always look for these first when walking into a cigar shop.

Hopefully this list helps you assemble some cigars worthy of gifting for Valentine’s Day. They all have red, elegant, and sometimes simple bands. Luckily they never lack on flavor! Good luck!
